Today's Agent Skill: Weekly Goal Progress Check-In Report
What It Does
Most small business owners set quarterly goals in January and don't look at them again until December. Without a regular weekly check-in, goals drift, priorities shift invisibly, and the quarter ends with a list of things that almost got done. This skill generates a structured weekly progress report in under two minutes—giving you a clear status on every goal, a flagged recovery plan for anything falling behind, and three specific actions to focus on next week.
How It Works
The agent takes your current goals and a brief note on what was accomplished toward each one this week. It assigns a status label (On Track, Slightly Behind, At Risk, Completed), writes a one-sentence progress summary per goal, and generates a recovery suggestion for anything falling behind. The output ends with a "Win of the Week" and three concrete next-week actions—so your Monday morning starts with a clear direction rather than a blank slate.
How to Deploy It
Paste your goals and weekly notes into Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor, or Windsurf at the end of each work week. You'll receive a complete progress report in seconds. Run it every Friday for best results—it takes less than five minutes from notes to finished report.

## Description
Generates a structured weekly goal progress check-in report for a small business owner, tracking status on active quarterly or monthly goals and producing a focused action plan for the coming week.
## Trigger
Run at the end of each work week when the user wants to review goal progress. Trigger on prompts like "help me check in on my goals," "create my weekly review," or "what should I focus on next week?"
## Input
- List of current quarterly or monthly business goals (2-5 goals)
- Brief notes on what was accomplished toward each goal this week (a sentence or two per goal is sufficient)
- Any blockers or issues encountered
- Optional: target completion date for each goal
## Steps
1. For each goal, assign a status label: On Track, Slightly Behind, At Risk, or Completed — based on progress notes and time remaining.
2. Write a one-sentence summary of this week's accomplishment toward each goal.
3. For any goal labeled Slightly Behind or At Risk, identify the most likely cause of the gap and suggest one specific, actionable recovery step.
4. Identify the single most important goal to prioritize next week based on deadline urgency, dependencies, and business impact.
