15 prompt types that put AI to work in your business

Most people hunt for the one perfect prompt. A better habit is to learn the moves. Here are 15 named prompt types, grouped by what you need done, with a free two-page card to keep next to your keyboard.

Think of prompt types like scales on a piano. Learn one song and it works once. Learn the scales and you can play anything. Each prompt type is a move with a name, and naming the move does half the work, because the AI already knows what "rank in priority order" or "red team this" means. The 15 types fall into six jobs: Research: Progressive Summarization, Benchmarking. Write: Constraint-Driven, Change Narrative, Recursive. Analyze: Metric-Driven, Comparative Analysis, Chain of Thought. Market: Persona Contrast, Red Team / Blue Team. Work efficiently: Workflow Simulation, Priority Ranking. Grow: Scenario Expansion, Futures Wheel, Layered Abstraction. Every prompt on the card has the same four-line shape: who the AI should act as, the move and the job, your situation, and what you want back. End with "Ask me up to three questions, one at a time," and the answer gets better. The card gives all 15 types a small-business example. Download it, pick one job from your week, and try one type in the AI chat you already use. We made the card for AI in Your Neighborhood, a free series at the Chaska Library, presented by Bodhi AI and hosted by the Carver County Library.
